The Secret of Seaside Paige Comber Mystery Agatha Ball 9781521137901 Books

I enjoyed the characters, place and idea of the book..HOWEVER...there was two murders and a LONG ago murder and I was LOST as to who killed who and why. I do not feel that any of the murders were solved ... left with LOTS of questions.

The Secret of Seaside Paige Comber Mystery Agatha Ball 9781521137901 Books Reviews

Thank you, Agatha! And thank your proofreaders and your editor! In addition to a very well done mystery tale, I was so happy to read a story without the distraction of misspelling, misuse, and dreadful punctuation! I eagerly look forward to another of your books!
I hope this is going to be a long series because I LOVE spending time in this seaside world. Love the mystery. Love the characters. Agatha Ball is going straight onto my must-buy list.
I finished this book, the first in I suspect is a series and found it to be entertaining and an easy read. Lots of fun, albeit re-treads of other books within the genre I found the two main characters easy to like and cheer on. A woman(Paige) who dreams of baking in Paris, but in the meanwhile goes to spend what initially appears to be a long drawn out summer on an island with her Granny who runs a shop on Main Street, finds herself caught up in a flirtation with a handsome stranger(Nate), who happens to be the be the nephew of a recently 'departed' man, add the keystone cops who are suspicious of the wrong two people to the mix, and some partially drawn other characters, who may be in future editions and we are off to the races. The real murderer I was able to figure out based upon a recent read that followed a similar pattern of behavior(sorry). Anyway it was a fun romp while I figure out how to get my own kindle and get back to reading an advanced edition of the book I was originally committed to read.
Meh! It's been about a week since I read this, and I had to reread the blurb to jog my memory, as I couldn't remember a thing about it. It's just a quick beach read type book that'll fill in some time, but won't make much of an impact.
Not a bad story for a quick read, but I really had a problem with the Uncle buying the land under the properties of the business owners. This just isn't probable. The building owners didn't own the property on which the buildings sit? They couldn't merely refuse? Not at all logical or realistic. CAPITAL LETTERS were annoying. Better than a lot of indie authors, but hopefully the author will develop a more mature style and research what she's writing in the future.
This is a fun little book when you are in the mood for brain candy. The characters are fun and quirky, without being annoying stereotypes, so often found in this genre. There is a little light romance, but it all stays very PG, and isn't the main feature of the plot.
This is a fast read, but I honestly felt it could have used some more work. Both the story and mystery were a little too thin and improbable for my liking. I also didn't feel as though the characters were particularly well-developed.

This book seemed more like a YA mystery/romance to me, which is fine I guess, but it just wasn't what I was expecting. Not terrible, just okay and a good way to pass a brief afternoon.

Since this is Book 1 in the Paige Comber series, maybe the books get better. I'd still be willing to give the next book a try to find out.
I enjoyed the characters, place and idea of the book..HOWEVER...there was two murders and a LONG ago murder and I was LOST as to who killed who and why. I do not feel that any of the murders were solved ... left with LOTS of questions.
